Provlyn
For Law Firms

Court-admissible evidence.
Permanently provable.

Provlyn gives UK and EU law firms cryptographic proof of existence for client documents — protected by RFC 3161 trusted timestamping and the Bitcoin blockchain. Unlike traditional virtual data rooms, Provlyn proves a document existed and has not been altered, without needing to trust us.

RFC 3161 timestamping
eIDAS-compliant (EU Regulation 910/2014)
Bitcoin blockchain anchor
Independent, jurisdiction-free proof
Immutable audit trail
Chain-of-custody that cannot be disputed

Provlyn

Why traditional data rooms fall short

Virtual data rooms store documents behind passwords. Provlyn proves a document existed at a specific moment, independently of any server you have to trust.

Traditional VDR

Trust the provider

  • ✗ Access logs live on the provider's servers
  • ✗ Files can theoretically be altered server-side
  • ✗ Tamper-detection is not cryptographic
  • ✗ If the provider fails, evidence is lost
  • ✗ No independent proof of existence
Provlyn

Trust the mathematics

  • ✓ RFC 3161 timestamps issued by trusted TSA
  • ✓ SHA-256 hash anchored to Bitcoin blockchain
  • ✓ Verifiable without trusting Provlyn's servers
  • ✓ eIDAS-compliant digital evidence (EU)
  • ✓ Independent command-line verification (OpenSSL)

Built for real legal workflows

From contentious probate to IP litigation — proof that stands up.

PROBATE

Will preservation for probate

Store client wills with an immutable timestamp proving the version, date, and integrity of the document. When a will is contested, you have cryptographic proof of exactly which version was executed and when — defeating allegations of tampering, substitution, or backdating in probate proceedings.

IP LITIGATION

Client IP preservation

Protect client intellectual property — designs, inventions, manuscripts, software, trade secrets — with timestamped evidence of authorship and priority date. Essential for IP litigation, trademark oppositions, and copyright enforcement where "first in time" is decisive.

LITIGATION

eDiscovery & chain of custody

Create a tamper-evident record of evidence collection for litigation. Every document is hashed on deposit and anchored to the blockchain, giving you defensible chain-of-custody that meets disclosure obligations and withstands challenges to authenticity.

COLLABORATION

Privileged document sharing

Share sensitive materials with opposing counsel, experts, clients, or third parties through invite-only vaults with verified email access. Every view, download, and action is permanently logged — and the logs themselves are blockchain-anchored so they cannot later be disputed.

CONTRACT DISPUTES

Contract evidence

Timestamp executed contracts, variations, and supplemental agreements at the moment of signing. Prove exactly when a document existed in a specific form — critical when disputes arise over amendment timing, version control, or alleged backdating.

COMPLIANCE

Regulatory & compliance records

Create immutable audit trails for regulatory filings, compliance records, and internal governance documents. Demonstrate GDPR Article 5(2) accountability and maintain defensible records for SRA, FCA, or industry regulator investigations.

Provlyn

How the evidence is built and shared

01
Hash on your device
A SHA-256 fingerprint is computed in your browser. The file itself never leaves your control unless you choose to upload.
02
Timestamp & eIDAS seal
The hash is countersigned by a trusted RFC 3161 authority, with an optional eIDAS qualified timestamp from an EU trust service provider — the strongest legal standing a timestamp can carry.
03
Bitcoin anchor & certificate
The hash is anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain via OpenTimestamps, then issued as a self-verifying PDF certificate that anyone can check offline with OpenSSL.
04
Share with watermarks
Release privileged material through invite-only vaults. Every access is logged, and each copy is watermarked per recipient, so a leak traces back to one person.
